			bio='Greg Kress is a native of New York City with an interest in art, music and a strong DIY streak. After reading The Dancing Wu Li Masters the summer after high school, he decided to pursue a degree in Engineering Physics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. His primary research was in the field of dynamics, in which he applied nonlinear feedback excitation methods for use in high-senstivity damage detction for the USAF. His lifelong passion for jazz and experimental music lent itself well to a three-year stint as an on-air personality at the freeform radio station WCBN 88.3 FM. Greg is also self-taught on several instruments and is regularly involved in dozens of other artistic media. Greg\'s scientific background, engineering intuition and experimental personality are well-suited to the culture of "rapid prototyping" in the ME310 community.<br /><br />Greg is a second-year graduate student at Stanford in the M.E. Design group. Currently, he is involved in several research and prototype development projects, all employing or examining the Stanford design methodology. As a student of ME310 07-08, Greg worked with Audi to develop a "smart handbook" for the car of the future; now, he is a course assistant helping students to learn the process for themselves. 			bio='As if he was inspired by the 1984 Olympic Games, the year he was born, Octavio practiced Olympic gymnastics for fourteen years until he became student at the UNAM. Choosing the Mechatronics Engineering program seemed a natural step to take for a compulsive science fiction reader interested in the synergy of robotics, biomechanics, automation and control.<br /><br />Octavio took ME310 in 2007-2008 and plays the role of UNAM\'s course assistant during the 2008-2009 academic year. Evan is interested in applying and teaching the ME310 design mindset to problems outside of the scope of product development such as: cooking as a design problem, organizing a closet as a design problem, dealing with your in-laws as design problem, and the list goes on...<br /><br />Outside of class, you can find Evan spiking on the sand volleyball court, triple bogeying on the golf course, or tossing a football with a few friends. During his undergrad at Johns Hopkins, Evan leveraged his personal interest in exercise to design a device that allows the users to propel baby strollers while running naturally (moving their arms), as opposed to pushing the strollers with their arms. 			bio='It all started in the Christmas of 1958, when out of the blue, 3 months before expected, Alejandro was born, giving no chance for his parents to even get to a hospital.<br /><br />As a boy living in the countryside, there was no toy, animal or plant safe from his curious hands.  His favorite game was to climb trees and discover the bio-mechanics of all sorts of bugs. Since age 9, he was surrounded by machines since his father owned a dairy company which later became his training floor.<br /><br />Alejandro\'s formal studies began in 1979 looking for answers at the School of Engineering. He found not only answers, but also more questions and opportunities regarding Mechanical Design. He completed his Masters at UNAM and his PhD at Lancaster with Prof. Michael French. He has always been in deep contact with the industry, so the natural step was for him to become his own boss while never quitting his academic passion.
